Los Onderos is a mexican-american rap group from Santa Maria, the fastest growing city on the central coast of California. Their music is a blend of 90’s Hip Hop, Soul, with a mix of string bending guitar solos, and Latin Rap.

 

The name ONDEROS, is translated as “Mexican Hippies.” This is derived from the spanish translation of “jipitecas” or “hippies” during the counterculture movement known as “La Onda” or “The Wave” during the late 1960’s and 70’s. This was an artistic movement created in Mexico by artist and intellectuals as part of the worldwide waves of the counterculture of the 1960’s avant-garde.
